Privacy Policy

TrackExpnz (“TrackExpnz,” “we,” “us”) provides a personal and business expense-tracking application. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. The service is currently offered to users in the United States.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
• Financial data you enter: expenses (amount, vendor, category, date, notes), income, mileage trips, business details, and any expense data you import from a CSV file.
• Receipt images: photos you capture or upload to attach to expenses.
• Diagnostic & usage data: error reports and product-usage events used to keep the app reliable. We do not use this to track you across other apps or websites.

We do not connect to your bank. All financial data is entered manually or imported by you; we never request your banking credentials.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate the app and your account.
• To generate your expense reports and tax (Schedule C) summaries and exports.
• To scan receipts you upload and suggest fields.
• To secure accounts and send transactional emails (e.g., password reset).
• To diagnose errors and improve the product.

TrackExpnz is a record-keeping tool. It does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice.

How your data is stored and protected

Data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run the service, under contractual confidentiality obligations:

• Amazon Web Services: hosting, database, file storage, and AI receipt scanning.
• Sentry: error and crash monitoring.
• PostHog: privacy-conscious product analytics.
• Resend: sending transactional email.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app. Deletion removes your profile, expenses, mileage, businesses, and receipt images.

Children

TrackExpnz is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
